It’s no secret that I love to support local brands, so I’m pleased to introduce a new one (for me!) to the blog today! Bombshell HQ was founded by costume designer Katya Wildman; she couldn’t find the right dresses for her curves so used her skills to make her own, and the rest is history! Creating high quality pieces made right here in London, the Bombshell team pride themselves on having the utmost visibility of their sustainable supply chain and making forever dresses that you’ll wear and treasure for many years to come. The Bombshell lovelies let me try their tartan shirt dress, a perfect piece for me as I can never get enough tartan over autumn and winter! Click below to find out more about it and see how I’ve styled this gorgeous dress.
When faced with the choice of picking a dress from the Bombshell website to try, I wondered how on earth I would narrow it down, as all their pieces look so beautiful! After initially trying one of their Edge of the Shoulder dresses, which was incredible but I sadly lacked the curves to fill it out, I worked with Mollie on getting the right piece for me. We settled on the tartan shirt dress, a smart move as it has a tie in the front to allow me to cinch my waist. This is perhaps the most amazing shirt-waist dress I’ve seen; it’s so well tailored to create the ultimate hourglass shape, and the tie part of the dress brings across extra panels of fabric that add shape to the skirt without being bulky. The elegant collar and turned up 3/4 sleeves add extra style too! Sizing at Bombshell ranges from UK8-24, to cover every body! For reference I’m wearing a size UK8 which is a great fit on me.

The biggest thank you to Mollie, Katya, and the team at Bombshell HQ for this collab! I could not have had a better experience and I am so happy to support a brand doing such great things. And thank you as always to @cmjsnz for taking these pics, he got a new camera at the end of last year so this is our first blog post we’ve used it for!
