In winter I tend to wear more skirts than dresses, which also means I become a sweater girl! I love a good sweater for being not too hot when I’m inside with the heating on, but for keeping me toasty under my coat when I go outside in the cold. I’m so lucky to be trying a couple of adorable sweaters from Miss Fortune for today’s blog post, the Daphne and the Penelope. Find out more about them and see how I’ve styled them after the jump!
Miss Fortune started all the way back in 2005 out of founder Laura’s garage! Since then she has expanded to sell wholesale across her UK base and Europe, and ship to all over the world. Her designs are based on true vintage clothing from the 1940s and 1950s, and she sells a mixture of handmade items and pieces manufactured in her UK warehouse.
Look no further than the Daphne jumper for the ultimate bad girl sweater! This is a classic 1940s style, with dolman sleeves and a 20″ cropped length. The stripe pattern is fabulous, with a mixture of pale pink, hot pink, black, and white all alternating different stripe widths for a really unique design. The acrylic/elastine knit is luxurious and thick, though not so much that you’re at risk of overheating. I am wearing my usual size XS and it fits me perfectly! If you can’t get enough of the Daphne jumper, you’ll love the other colourways of lemon & lime and sherbet.
The Penelope jumper is just too cute! It features ribbed edging details and adorable puff sleeves. Knowing my love of yellow, Laura let me try the lemon colourway, which features golden yellow atomic stars on a pastel yellow background. At 19″ long this is a great cropped and flattering length for wearing with pants or a pencil skirt, or super easy to tuck into a circle skirt. This style runs a little larger than usual so I recommend checking the measurements on the product page before ordering, though I have found that the XS still fits me really well even with my small bust. Like the Daphne this is a reasonably thick knit so it holds shape really well. If you’re a fan of this style you’ll be pleased to know it also comes in bubblegum, mint, and strawberry colourways – delicious!
These sweaters are recent releases so most sizes are still available, but order soon to avoid disappointment as they tend to go fast! They are available through the Miss Fortune website for £38.49 each, with all clothing made in and shipped from the UK. International postage is available, with different options depending on whether you’d prefer tracking and/or signature.
