There’s just something about winter in a colder climate that’s making me mad for plaid! So when the lovely Marjorie let me loose choosing some custom styles from Hearts and Found, the plaid prints were immediately what I gravitated towards. My first choice was the Marianne dress in red “Clash of the Tartans” print, and it’s a snug wintery dream! Read all about it and see how I’ve styled it after the jump.
I’d been wanting to try the Marianne dress for a while, and in the height of winter those 3/4 sleeves are just the ticket. It has a reasonably high round neckline, a fitted bodice, and a gathered skirt. It zips up at the back, finishing a little before the nape and then closing with a button at the top. Like all Hearts and Found designs, the Marianne dress has a lined skirt and has super deep pockets! The Clash of the Tartans print is so classic, and better still it’s a medium weight flannel so it’s both chic and cosy. I love the simple black and red colour scheme, a combo that’s becoming my winter go-to as it’s so easy to style. Remember that as all Hearts and Found items are fully customisable that you can order the Marianne dress in any fabric, or use the Clash of the Tartans fabric in another dress style – the options are endless!
Worried about not getting to try on a dress before buying? Fear not, because at Hearts and Found custom sizing at the norm so your purchase is guaranteed to fit you like a glove! I supplied Marjorie with my measurements (leaving just a smidge of wiggle room for winter comfort eating, because I know myself), and when it arrived it was, as expected, so perfect and comfy! I also got to choose my skirt length – out of the six options I chose the midi/tea length (regular) option of 28 inches. If your measurements correspond to standard sizing options you can choose one of those when ordering if you wish, but otherwise providing your measurements for fully custom sizing comes at no extra cost. For some styles you have the option of ordering a readymade item that will ship straight away, otherwise Marjorie will let you know how long your order will take to make but even at the busiest times the turnaround is around 2 weeks. I am constantly blown away by the price for such a high quality dress – all this wonderfulness is available for £75/$100USD, which is such a bargain!
