It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I am such a huge Christmas nerd; I theme my outfits for the 12 days of Christmas, I have festive tunes playing non-stop for the whole of December, I look forward to opening each window of my advent calendar, and I meticulously hang up my stocking ready for Santa (because otherwise where else will he put the presents?). So needless to say, Erstwilder’s latest release, entitled ‘A Very Kitschy Christmas‘, has me all googly-eyed! The new collection includes 4 recoloured favourites, plus 11 brand spanking new designs by the super talented Donna Mizzi. I’ve styled my festive picks for the blog today, and I can’t wait to bring them out again closer to the big day!
Ginger the Christmas Cookie brooch
One of my favourite things about Christmas is the food! There are always so many goodies around, and I usually end up having more than one roast and pudding during the season! I especially enjoy getting into the kitchen to bake some gingerbread cookies, as I can’t help but eat or smell them and it feels like Christmas. Ginger the Christmas Cookie isn’t an edible treat, but she certainly looks delicious – someone has even taken a bite from her head already! Erstwilder previously released a male version of Ginger who proved to be so popular that he was running out the door (see what I did there) – now Ginger has been restyled in lady form, with eyelashes, pink lips, and a pink and white polka dot scarf. Careful though, this brooch will make you hungry!
Nanna’s Little Angel brooch
Nanna’s Little Angel is among the new pieces in this collection, created by designer extraordinaire Donna! I always have an angel at the top of my Christmas tree, though this angel will be staying closer to the ground pinned on my front. This little lass has the absolute sweetest face – I like to think she’s in the middle of singing a Christmas carol! She’s also incredibly detailed, with an intricately designed dress, glittery wings, and a halo. Donna’s designs are always adorable, and this little angel is no exception.
Season’s Greetings brooch
Christmastime means summertime here in New Zealand, but that doesn’t stop me dreaming of a white Christmas! The Season’s Greetings brooch is the ideal version of that picture-perfect Northern Hemisphere Christmas. It features a little house (perhaps made of gingerbread, or maybe I’m just hungry), surrounded by decorated trees and snowy skies, all within the setting of a classic snow globe. One day I hope my dreams come true and that I get to wear this brooch during a snowy festive season!
Thank you so much to the fabulous Erstwilder team for letting me pick my Christmas favourites, and to @cmjsnz for snapping these pictures! Designs are already selling out so I hope you’ve secured your most-loved pieces. I’d love to know what you’ve ordered in the comments below!
