Romantic rose brooch│Milushka

Delicate, nostalgic, colourful, artistic – if these are things you look for when buying jewellery then look no further than Milushka! Based in Croatia, her goal is to create statement pieces for girls of all ages, with her work featuring the sweetest of things like cupcakes, unicorns, carousel horses, and lindy hop dancers. Her latest designs are a range of romantic florals, showcasing roses, peonies, and orchids. Milushka was so kind to send me a gorgeous brooch recently and I knew just the right dress to pair with it!

This darling brooch features a big yellow tea rose bloom surrounded by smaller flowers and leaves in green, white, and blue, all on a dark pink background. The flowers are made from polymer clay and coated with glossy varnish, while the edging and backing is a silver-plated filigree. By building up the petals layer by layer, this gives an amazing 3D effect which is so eye-catching and really makes it feel like wearable art! This design takes inspiration from a combination of vintage ceramic jewellery and cameo brooches. Unlike its retro influences though, it’s light and sturdy (despite the delicate and detailed design), and so you can wear it without being worried about breaking it! I especially love that the brooch centres around the large yellow rose, as it’s my favourite colour and always makes me happy.

All of Milushka’s designs are available to buy through her Etsy store. Each item is one of a kind, so if you see something you love I recommend getting in quick before someone else nabs it! Milushka also does custom orders so you can contact her to create something just for you. Shipping is available worldwide, and for very reasonable prices (only $9.95 all the way to New Zealand!) as pieces are so light.

Thank you so much to the lovely Milushka for this beautiful brooch, I will definitely be treasuring this! Make sure you’re following her on Instagram and Facebook to see more stunning designs! And as always thank you to @cmjsnz for these snaps in the Pumphouse Amphitheatre.
