Yes Darling prom dress + Maggie cardi│Review

Before coming to London for my holidays I had been in New Zealand for the first day of spring, and it was a beauty! So warm, not a cloud in the sky, and a cool breeze; everything you always hope for spring to be! It’s a joy to see those spring feels reflected in the designs hitting the shelves too, such as in the weekly shop updates from Review. They have some of the prettiest pieces all year round, but their spring styles are blowing me away! To give you a taste of what they have to offer, I’m showcasing the Yes Darling prom dress with a matching Maggie cardigan in today’s blog post. Read on to find out my thoughts on them!

I adore florals whatever the weather, but most definitely in spring! The Yes Darling prom dress definitely delivers that floral hit, with gorgeous huge coral pink blooms against a radiant aqua blue backdrop. This print really makes a statement and feels so fun and fresh! The dress itself is, as so many Review pieces are, incredibly chic; it features an almost halter-style neckline, with hidden clips to hide your bra straps, and the zip and button at the nape of the neck combine to leave a little cutout at the back. The bodice is fitted and tailored excellently, while the skirt is fun and flirty with pleats, an underskirt with a little petticoat detail, and falling just above the knee. The dress is fully lined, and made in Review’s signature luxurious cotton fabric with textured stitch detailing. Oh and it has enormous pockets and a matching belt with grommets – always a bonus in my book!

Review makes some of the best cardigans around – finely knit and perfectly fitted, and cropped at just the right height to actually hit your waist and emphasise that vintage silhouette. I have a huge number of Review’s previous style of cardigan (the Chessie) already, but this is my first time trying the Maggie cardigan. They are very similar, with the most noticeable difference being the detailing around the neckline and down the front as the Maggie cardigan has little dotted cut-outs. This is such a great wardrobe staple, with those 3/4 sleeves giving just the right amount of warm in office air-con or on a cooler day. I’m wearing the Maggie cardigan in the bubblegum pink shade, which matches with the flowers on the Yes Darling prom dress to a T and refreshingly takes the hassle out of matching an outfit!

In both pieces I’m wearing a size AU6, which is my usual Review size. I’ve always found the sizing really consistent at Review, never having any issues with the fit between styles, and this is the case here too. For reference, my measurements of 32″-24″ correspond exactly to the measurements on the Review size chart for an AU6 (which also aligns to an NZ6, UK6, and US2). Overall, Review’s sizing caters for AU6 – 16.

The Yes Darling prom dress and Maggie cardigan are both available to buy directly from the Review website, or you can purchase in store if you live in Australia or New Zealand and have one near you. These pieces retail for $289.99AUD and $99.99AUD respectively, and remember that each purchase gives you loyalty points which you can redeem in the form of a voucher the following month. International postage is available, with a discounted rate for shipping to New Zealand as we live so close!
