Trying a new Karina Dresses dress is always such a delight! I had eagerly anticipated their recently released fall styles, especially as it’s still so cold here in New Zealand. To keep the chill away I couldn’t go past the 3/4 sleeve Ruby dress, this time in black and white cross dots. Read on to find out my thoughts!
I had forgotten how much I loved the Ruby dress until I put this one on – it was my first Karina Dresses style but I hadn’t tried another since then! My goodness this dress is flattering – that faux wrap design is so perfect for so many shapes and sizes. The 3/4 sleeves are welcome in a cool breeze or the office air-con, and the tie is great for cinching at the waist to enhance your curves. The skirt is full and swishy, and because it’s not a true wrap dress this means there’s no risk of a skirt-caught-by-a-gust-of-wind scenario!
Karina Dresses sizing is everything you dream of – true to the size chart, and consistent between styles. I have always been an XS in Karina Dresses, and the Ruby dress is the perfect fit just like all the other dresses I’ve tried. I particularly favour this one simply for the addition of the waist tie which gives even more sizing flexibility. Currently all sizes are still available in the black & white cross dots Ruby dress, ranging from size XS to XXL and covering US sizes 0-24.
It’s a trademark of Karina Dresses to use the most comfortable and breathable microfibre fabric, so you can basically throw on their dresses and look effortlessly stylish. Who doesn’t love that in the morning? The black and white cross dot pattern is one of the Karina Dresses signature prints, and it’s a little more jazzy than your average polka dot print as all the spots are linked together giving a diamond pattern effect. I don’t wear a lot of black, but if I’m wearing it then it better be with lots of colour! I went for hot pink accessories this time, which was a good excuse to bring out my little sun umbrella.
The Ruby dress in black & white cross dots is currently available through the Karina Dresses website for $108USD. If you’re a Ruby fan then you’ll be pleased to know it’s available in a wide range of prints and also comes in a sleeveless version – see the full range here. Karina Dresses provide both local and international tracked shipping which arrives super fast.
