The story of Charlotte’s Web is much beloved as a favourite childhood book by many, so it’s wonderful to see this beautiful themed set from The Oblong Box Shop paying homage to it! Also inspired by vintage cobweb and rose prints which have been very sought after of late, these are true statement pieces that are a unique addition to any pinup wardrobe!

The Charlotte’s Web motif is such a special one, featuring oversize roses over cobwebs with little black widow spiders scattered throughout! The bright coral colour of the huge blooms really pops against the grey background of the skirt, and the matching sweater is the exact same shade. There is even a patch of the Charlotte’s Web pattern embroidered on the shoulder of the sweater to tie it all together! The sweater has elbow-length sleeves and a keyhole cut-out at the back which buttons at the neck, making it easy to get over your head without the risk of denting your do. The skirt is in keeping with other TOBS gathered skirts, being very full and falling to below the knee, with a pocket on one side.

I’m wearing a size S in both the Charlotte’s Web sweater and skirt. I also wore an S in the Cactus Dreams skirt, and I find the fit to be really consistent between them. Remember the neat trick that The Oblong Box Shop offers where the waistband of their gathered skirts has an extra 1″, giving room to move the button in either direction to get the perfect fit. The size range of an S in the sweater goes from 32-40″ in the bust, due to the super stretchy fabric. As I’m smaller in the bust the fit is a little large on me, and though this isn’t too noticeable by tucking the sweater into the skirt in the right way I’d definitely recommend sizing down if you’re between sizes.
