Lily dress│Lady V London

I am so excited to get to try a Lady V London dress! The brand was started in 2011 by husband and wife team Sergio and Victoria, and they’ve been creating beautiful, classic, and affordable vintage-inspired clothing ever since. Having been a longtime admirer of theirs I couldn’t wait to style their Lily dress in Hummingbirds and Roses print for the blog.

Lady V London have been outdoing themselves with winning prints this season, including the delightful Hummingbirds & Roses print seen in this post. This cotton/elastine blend features a mix of pink and blue roses, orange hibiscus, and bright blue hummingbirds all on a light champagne background. The Lily dress itself is a sleeveless style with a lovely sweetheart neckline and back cut-out. It’s a classic fit and flare design, and has a pleated below-the-knee-length skirt with enough volume to fit a two-layer petticoat underneath.

The size range at Lady V London caters for UK8-32 across their Lady Vintage and Lady Voluptuous brands. The Lily dress is a Lady Vintage piece, and so comes in sizes UK8-22. I’m wearing a UK8, as the 33″-27″ measurements per the size chart were closest to my own. Unfortunately the dress did gape a little on me in the chest area, however I’m not blessed in that department so it’s always something I expect! Otherwise the fit was good and as well as being generally fabulous I found the Lily dress really comfortable to wear too.

The Lily dress can be purchased via the Lady V London website for £50/$87NZD, and it’s currently still available in most sizes, though selling fast. This is such a budget-friendly price for a quality pin-up dress! Shipping is free within the UK if you spend over £75, or free internationally when you spend over £150; otherwise shipping prices are very reasonable if you spend under that threshold, such as £12 to New Zealand.
