Miss Nouvelle is an exciting new brand, launching only a couple of months ago and already making waves! Owner and designer Holly has had a long love affair with vintage styles and has a history of working in the fashion industry, so it made sense to start creating her own high quality vintage-inspired clothing. All Miss Nouvelle products are proudly designed, printed and sewn in the USA, and her wonderful hand-designed fabrics reflect her love of vintage novelty prints. I have been lucky enough to try the Twirl Skirt in Sunsoaked print for today’s blog post, which has definitely made me long for some warm weather!

The Twirl skirt is a full circle style, so it definitely lives up to its name! Being pleated all the way round the waist there is a lot of swish to this skirt. The fabric is a cotton sateen which feels super luxurious, and the skirt itself has pockets and a sweet self-fabric belt. Then of course there’s the amazing print! I am wearing the Sunsoaked print, which features mint green and purply-blue lobsters, magazine covers, sunscreen and sunglasses, all on a candy pink background. This is one of three fabulous prints that Holly designed herself (the others being the TikiTastic and Atomic prints), they are all so fun and colourful so I can’t wait to see more of her work!

The sizing at Miss Nouvelle ranges from Small to X-Large, with 1X-4X on the way soon! I am wearing a size Small, which per the size chart caters for a waist size of 25-26″. My waist usually measures at 24″ (depending on how much I’ve had for lunch), so I thought it might be slightly on the bigger side but it was a really comfortable fit. I could also use the matching belt (which has multiple grommets, yay!) to cinch in a little to define my waist more. The length is perfect on me, falling a couple of inches below the knee and easily fitting a two layer petticoat underneath.
