Sesame Street│Erstwilder

It’s a sunny day and the air is sweet because Erstwilder‘s Sesame Street collection is here! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the show that has shaped so many of our childhoods, team EW has created wearable art in the form of these beloved characters. Friendly neighbours include Elmo, the Cookie Monster, and you’ll even be able to see Mr. Snuffleupagus. So sweep the clouds away and check out the collection (including my all-time faves) below!

Count von Count brooch

“I am the Count. They call me the Count because I love to count things. Ah-hah-hah!”

This guy must have had a pretty big influence on me, as I’ve grown up to be an acCOUNTant! Originally influenced by Bela Lugosi’s portrayal of Count Dracula, Count von Count is a lot more friendly and loves to help you learn!

Big Bird brooch

“Bad days happen to everyone, but when one happens to you, just keep doing your best and never let a bad day make you feel bad about yourself.”

I spent a lot of my childhood lugging a dignified elephant (Lady Gray) around under one arm and Big Bird under another, so you could say I’m quite a fan! Always giving the sagest advice and the warmest hugs, Big Bird is perhaps the most talented bird around, being able to roller skate, dance, and even ride a unicycle. This brooch is such a great representation of him!

Bert and Ernie brooch set

“Well, Ernie, you’re just a little messy. I’ve learned that. I’m used to it.”

Bert and Ernie are friendship goals! These two have been by each other’s side over 50 years and they’re still going strong. Did you know that they were named after two minor characters in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’? It’s also said that their relationship reflected the real life friendship of Jim Henson and Frank Oz, who originated the characters. Adding rubber ducky to this brooch set is just the icing on the cake.

Sesame Street sign brooch (free gift with purchase)

“It’s a magic carpet ride
               Every door will open wide
                             To happy people like you”

Buy three or more Sesame Street designs and you’ll get one of these exclusive designs included in your parcel! They’re also available via stockists but remember that supplies are limited. This is the perfect brooch to pair with any of your Sesame Street pieces or even to wear just on its own!

And the rest of the range:

Super Grover brooch and Yip Yips earrings

“Remember this, kids, it is very important. Even if your mommy makes you a super hero costume, do not attempt to do any of these things, especially flying. Because you cannot do it. You do not have super powers. Because there is only one Super Grover. And that is me.”

Snuffleupagus brooch and Oscar the Grouch brooch

Big Bird: “At last! Now you see him and you got to believe me. He’s not imaginary after all. I told you all along there was a Snuffleupagus, my best pal. I told you, but you never believed me.” Bob Johnson: “I’ll tell you what, Big Bird. From now on, we’ll believe you whenever you tell us something.” Snuffleupagus: “We might want to get that in writing.”

“This is the greatest day of my life. This calls for a celebration: an anchovy sundae ice-cream!”

Elmo brooch and studs

“Elmo just wanted to say, thanks for helping. Elmo couldn’t have done it without you. Elmo love you. Bye-bye!”

Cookie Monster brooch set and studs

“Early bird gets the worm. But cookie taste better than worm. So me sleep in.”

Zoe brooch and Friendly Neighbours necklace

“Friends forever!”

A massive thank you to the amazing team at Erstwilder for letting us shoot such a special collection! And thank you as always to @cmjsnz for taking the time to shoot these pics. This range is set to sell out fast I’m sure, so make sure you check with your stockists if your faves sell out on the Erstwilder website. Let me know what you order in the comments!
