The Duchess of Cambridge is, without a doubt, such a fashion icon. From dressy daywear to glamorous evening gowns, she’s always perfectly styled down to her impossibly high heels, and what she wears frequently sells out in minutes. In today’s post I’m wearing her stunning purple coat dress – read about it below!

It’s undeniable that Kate’s coat dress is impeccably chic, but I’m so blown away with what Cynthia has crafted! Just like the original, it skims beautifully to create a super slimming silhouette. The simple A line design has just enough of a swishy skirt for me to not be out of my comfort zone (I’m used to wearing a petticoat with everything after all!), and the bodice is fitted so well, cinching at the waist with a matching belt. As all Heart My Closet designs are made to measure, you eliminate the risk of buying something online only to have it arrive and not fit. You can also choose options like your skirt length, sleeve length, neckline, and fabric colour. Cynthia got a fabric so close to the original, a gorgeous pastel purple, and added shorter sleeves to counter the increasingly warm weather. I think this is such a great style to wear to work, especially if you work in a more corporate office!
