Wax Poetic Clothing has been all about making whimsical and vintage-inspired fashions for the last three years, with a 100% commitment to manufacturing in the USA. Owner and designer Johanna has created a total stunner in the Gaia dress – and when a dress is named after the Mother Earth goddess then what better way to give it a first outing than by getting back to nature!
The print on the Gaia dress is oh so beautiful! The large pink and purple blooms really pop on the aqua background, which itself has darker and lighter patches that give a shimmery effect to look like the light is catching it. The fabric is a poly blend which is a great level of stretchy and sooooo comfortable! It also has a really nice texture and doesn’t need ironing. The cross-over detail at the bust sits at a good height and doesn’t dip too low (so work appropriate!) and the full length of the dress hits a couple of inches below the knee on me.
The size range for the Gaia dress comes in goes from XS – 2X. I’m wearing a size XS which is an absolute perfect fit, especially in the bust which is often an issue for me! The dress is draped beautifully, really emphasising your curves with the gathered shoulders and wide tummy panel. The icing on the cake of this super flattering dress is of course the super full skirt! This really emphasises the silhouette and is also excellent for doing extreme twirls in as I have demonstrated below!
The Gaia dress retails for $82USD/$115NZD and is available to purchase through the Wax Poetic Clothing website. There’s also free worldwide shipping available for orders over $50 until the end of the month! Johanna has just received a new shipment of the Gaia dresses but they are flying off the shelves so I recommend getting in quick. As all Wax Poetic Clothing is made right in the USA so you can be sure that the quality will be of the highest order and that you’re buying ethically – how good is that?
