Nicolette dress│Voodoo Vixen

Voodoo Vixen are bringing you alllll the cute styles for their SS17 collection! From reactions so far it’s clear to see these darling designs sprinkled with fresh florals and bright colours won’t stick around for long. After reviewing the Amber dress a couple of weeks ago, this week I’m bringing the Nicolette dress to the blog.

The Nicolette dress is a 100% cotton summer dress featuring a pattern of clustered pink roses on a cream background. It has a flattering sweetheart neckline and wide straps (no strapless bra required!), as well as sweet button detailing up the front. There is an invisible zip up the back, and an in-built petticoat which gives a nice level of volume to the already full circle skirt. This dress came with a matching cream belt, but I decided to swap it out for a pink belt to match my shoes on this occasion. And it has generous pockets, which is always a bonus!

I went for the size S in the Nicolette dress, as that’s Voodoo Vixen’s smallest size available. For reference, my measurements are 32″-24″, whereas the size S per the size chart measures 34″-27″. I expected the dress to be a little big, but as always this was easily fixable. I pinned the straps up a couple of inches at the back (which I will sew down for future wear) and a belt was able to cinch me in at the waist. There are shirred panels at the sides which allows some give in the bust and waist, so if you are between sizes I’d recommend sizing down in this style. I am 5’4″ and the skirt falls a couple of inches below the knee on me.

You’ll find the Nicolette dress still in stock on the Voodoo Vixen website, yay! Available for £55, you can expect to add shipping of £7.50 in Europe or £8.50 for the rest of the world, or if you’re in the UK then it’s free.
