After having so much love for the Summertime Swing dress from Stop Staring, I am feeling extra lucky to be able to bring another of their divine dresses to the blog.  The Genesis Swing dress is another amazing Stop Staring creation by founder and head designer Alicia Estrada – keep reading to find out why!

This dress stood out to me as being something a little different to the other Stop Staring styles. The Genesis dress is one of only a handfull of plaid styles, and with plaid being a winter staple it made me think to the cooler weather we’ll be having here in the Southern hemisphere soon. I find that Stop Staring dresses are so amazing on their own that they barely need any accessorising. I have matched my necklace, gloves and heels here with the navy in the dress which would make a great evening look, but I’d love to lighten things up with some gold accessories for a day at the office.

Many Stop Staring styles feature a similar pleated bust detailing to the Genesis dress, and I can easily see why – because it’s so flattering! Even for someone like me who is virtually flat-chested it sits so well and doesn’t gape at all. The sweetheart neckline is such a flattering shape while still being work appropriate, and the below-knee length skirt is full and swishy. The stretch rayon poly blend fabric wears really well, being figure-hugging and yet still breathable, while also not creasing easily which is such a bonus.

I went with my usual size XS, as per the Stop Staring size guide this matches my measurements exactly. The fit is spot on; it definitely hugs your shape but it’s super comfortably and is certainly not too tight. The waist especially is shaped so well that I didn’t even need a belt!
