Vivien of Holloway is well-known for crafting gorgeous clothing adapted from true 50s styles which is made in the UK and delivered all over the world. Today I’m reviewing the Grace dress in turquoise floral print, a beauty that is perfect for the holiday season.
The Grace dress is made from 100% cotton sateen, a mid-weight cotton that drapes beautifully. It’s great for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere that are going into summer, but also means you can pop on a cardigan, coat and some tights if you’re going into the Northern Hemisphere winter. The print is a big and bold floral in a lovely shade of turquoise on a crisp white background.
The Grace dress features a faux-wrap top, which doesn’t dip too low for those worried about being work-appropriate. I just had to sew the shoulders up slightly due to my being on the small side in the bust (you can see the stitching I did on my last Grace dress here), however this is something I often have to do with dresses and so wasn’t a problem for me.
And for fans of full circle skirts, you’ll need to look no further than the Grace dress for the height of twirl-worthiness! The skirt is on the longer side of many reproduction styles at 28.5″, though I personally am a huge fan of the longer length so this is a major plus for me. For reference I am about 5’4″ and the skirt falls a few inches below my knees. You can fit one (or even two!) of the beautifully fluffy VoH petticoats underneath, though do note that the dress is almost fully opaque so you don’t have to wear a petticoat underneath if you’re not a fan of them.
Note that Vivien of Holloway sizing is different to regular sizing in that it is based on your measurements in inches. I am wearing my usual VoH size, a 32-24-36, which aside from needing to sew the shoulders up slightly (see above) fits like a dream (for reference my measurements are 32″-24″ in the bust and waist respectively). You can check their size guide here which is consistent across all VoH garments, or contact their friendly staff for assistance if you are still unsure.
The Grace turquoise floral dress retails for £110 and is available to purchase through the Vivien of Holloway website or instore. For those ordering online, VoH provide very reasonable (and fast!) international shipping options. They are outdoing themselves with designs at the moment, so I recommend having a look through all their Grace dresses as I’m sure you’ll find something wonderful for your festive celebrations.

I really love that dress. Have you ever done rock n roll dancing? You have the perfect wardrobe. I just started at our local club. I’m one of the youngest but don’t mind. I have so much fun there and it wasn’t as hard to learn as I thought it would be
