Review: BAIT Footwear Robbie heels

I love my colourful heels and most of the time the only way to get them is to order online. In terms of sizing, quality, etc, this is usually a pretty risky task, so once I find a good brand I like to stick with it. BAIT Footwear is one of those (few) brands and after reviewing their Ione heels earlier in the year I decided to review my other BAIT staple: the Robbie heel.

I have very narrow feet, so I’m always worried about sliding out of shoes. Lucky for me, BAIT make a raft of T-bar and Mary Jane styles, and the Robbie heel is one of them. They also feature a 2 3/8″ block heel and a slightly cushiony insole. All of this means that they are super comfy, probably the comfiest in all my wardrobe! I can wear them all day at work without feeling a pinch, and the glittery styles especially give that extra sparkle to an evening outfit too.

The Robbie heels come in so many colours, and more are being released all the time. I bought my first two pairs, the matte red and glittery blue, during their Black Friday sale last year, and once I saw that sparkly purple and green versions were being released earlier this year I knew I had to have them. And of course there is just about every other colour imaginable in matte, patent and glitter versions; there’s no orange and yellow yet but I have my fingers crossed! I am also pleased to report that the Robbie doesn’t scuff easily at all; the glitter pairs seem to be especially hardy, but I haven’t got so much as a scratch on the red pair either; I think this is because they’re a sturdier material than the softer fabric of the Ione.

The usual BAIT Footwear sizing tradition of sizing up for pointy styles and sticking with your usual size for other styles applies here. I am usually a US6.5 and this fits me perfectly in the Robbie heel. I believe that with the round-toe styles like the Robbie it’s expected that they run true to size for all sizes, and they do have an adjustable strap to fit any width of foot. BAIT sizes range from US6-US10 (with half sizes in between except for US9.5), and they now have the black and cream pairs available in size US11. I always like to get in quick when a new colour or style that I like comes out though as sizes are limited and you never know how many other people might want them in your size!

You can buy the Robbie heels through the BAIT Footwear website for US$68 a pair, and yes they do ship internationally! Otherwise you might be lucky enough to find a local stockist near you. As a New Zealand lady, I personally like to get mine shipped through YouShop, as you get free US shipping through BAIT if you buy two pairs or more and then the YouShop shipping works out much cheaper than the BAIT shipping, though it does take a little longer.

I hope this answers all your questions on the Robbie heels, but please let me know if I can help with anything else!
