Review: Mary Bobbin Jack & Jill ladies skirt

Mary Bobbin, the Brisbane-based creator of adorable childrenswear, is branching out into ladieswear! Her new line – Mummy & Me – launched yesterday, and I was lucky enough to be one of the first to try the Jack & Jill ladies skirt.

Mary was kind enough to ask for my exact measurements before cutting the fabric, so the skirt it has a waist of 24″, and a length of 27″ (including a 2″ waistband) to hit a little below my knees which is perfect. It comes with a matching belt which is fully adjustable, something I always appreciate when I’m going out for lunch! The skirt is a half circle which sits beautifully, and I styled it with cream accessories for an elegant look.

The Jack & Jill styles have been created so that everything compliments each other. The ladies skirt I’m wearing features pale pink and blue, offset by a gorgeous raspberry polka dot belt and hem with ivory piping. There are then a lot of lovely items for the kids to match – a matching girls skirt, romper, and head wrap, as well as rompers and bonnets in pale pink and blue that pick up the colours in the skirt. So cute!

I love Mary’s attention to detail in this skirt. The matching belt is a lovely touch, and the skirt closes with an invisible zip. And of course the addition of nice large pockets is fantastic, because who doesn’t love pockets?

The Jack & Jill ladies skirt retails for $90 AUD. You can place orders online and Mary will make your skirt to exactly your measurements. Because her items are custom-made, she recommends allowing 4-5 weeks for your order to be completed, and I can safely say that for the level of craftsmanship and dedication that goes into Mary’s work, it is well worth the wait. International postage is also very reasonable for ladies living outside Australia.

Outfit details:

Necklace &  bag – vintage

Top – thrifted

Heels – Modcloth

I have so loved working with Mary on this collaboration, and you can follow her on Instagram to keep up with her new work!

A huge thank you to @cmjsnz for these wonderful pictures taken at Little Shoal Bay Reserve, and your patience!
