Though I do spend most of my days in 1950s clothing, I love giving other eras a try! It’s so fun to get dressed up in the fashion of other decades and figure out ways of styling to put your own stamp on it. That’s why I was thrilled to be contacted by Wardrobe Shop, who specialise in authentic recreations of dresses from the Victorian era through to the Jazz Age. I chose their Mary Darling dress in paprika by Nataya to style for the blog today, which got me out of my comfort zone in a good way!

Erstwilder have entered 2018 all guns blazing with their first collection of the year! Wilder West is an incredible collection of 12 brooches, 2 necklaces, and one set of earrings dreamed up by creative powerhouse and super talented designer Donna Mizzi. This is the west in true Erstwilder style, featuring everything from cute cacti to a bandana-wearing goat, all rendered in a mixture of resins. Vanessa Kelly is a champion of the novelty print, and I love a good one myself – so needless to say her Madeline dress in cactus print was so much fun to style for today’s blog post! We couldn’t find a large enough group (or should I say a spike?) of cacti for the backdrop but we did stumble upon oodles of hydrangeas in full bloom which were almost as bobbly and far less aggressive. Please note that no hydrangeas were harmed for this shoot – the one I’m holding in some of our pics was found alone on the ground ❤ Read on for more about the Madeline dress!
