I am thrilled to be bringing some more Dolly & Dotty to the blog! They have so many adorable dresses that won’t break the bank, perfect for stylish pinups on a budget. Today I’m featuring the Charlotte dress in green, amongst the greenery of the Parnell Rose Gardens.
The Charlotte dress features a V-neckline front and back, which doesn’t dip too low so it’s totally still work appropriate. The dress is fitted in the bodice, while the skirt is heavily pleated at the waist so that it flows out to a wide sweep. It comes with a matching fabric belt with grommets, though I think this is a ‘one size fits all’ belt as I had to tuck the end of mine in at the back. There are sweet little pleats at the shoulders which is a nice detail, and the dress fastens with an invisible zip at the back.
Made from a stretch cotton, the Charlotte dress is beautifully light for summer. I love the gorgeous shade of emerald green, it’s so fresh and being a solid colour means it’s easy to accessorise. The fabric is a reasonable thickness and so the skirt does poof out a bit on its own, but I popped a petticoat on for this shoot to add volume. I’m wearing a size UK6, which is my usual UK size, though this is not always available at Dolly & Dotty as their smallest size is usually a UK8. I have found this a good fit for me, and though the length is on the shorter side of what I would usually wear it still fully covers my knees.
Unfortunately the Charlotte dress is currently out of stock in green and there is only a size UK10 available in blue, but you can sign up to find out when it will be back in stock. The Charlotte dress retails for £29.99, and in fact most of the Dolly & Dotty styles hover around a similar price point (up to £39.99), which is super reasonable for a cute dress that is bound to become a wardrobe staple. Dolly & Dotty offer free delivery within the UK on orders over £50, and shipping is available internationally for a flat rate of £14.99.
