Nellie dress│1950s Glam

Today’s blog post is full of sugar but completely guilt-free! The Nellie dress from 1950s Glam is pure candy cane perfection, and though I’m still dreaming of Christmas I decided it was time to move on (sob!) and take it to the lolly shop instead, which proved to be the perfect backdrop for this super sweet dress. Read on to find out more!

Featuring a bold red and white stripe, the Nellie dress is instantly eye-catching! It has a flattering scoop neck, buttons all the way up the front, and falls a couple of inches below the knee. The matching sash belt ties in a perfect bow, or you can remove it to add your own contrasting belt. This lovely summer dress is definitely a stand-out statement piece!

1950s Glam sizing ranges from S to 2XL, though before going with your usual size they always recommend checking the size chart as measurements can vary between styles and they want to make sure you get a great fit. I’m wearing a size S, which for the Nellie style has measurements of 34.5″ in the bust and 26.5″ in the waist, compared to my own of 32″-24″. Understandably this therefore meant it was a little big, but not noticeably in the bust and with the help of the sash I could cinch it in at the waist for a better fit.

You can purchase the Nellie dress directly through the 1950s Glam website for $61USD/$86NZD, and if you sign up to their mailing list you get 10% off your first purchase. Shipping is available internationally, and it’s free (yes, free!) all over the world!
