I love winter-fying my pretty summer dresses – just because it’s cold I would feel so sad if I didn’t get to wear them for a big chunk of the year! Luckily one of my favourite brands, Vivien of Holloway, has been expanding their range of lovely cardigans so that you can wear their summer dresses and still be toasty warm! 

The Jenny cardigan is a relatively new design from Vivien of Holloway, and one that is entirely welcome! This delightful cropped knit is the perfect length to wear over your high-wasited dresses and skirts, and the shawl collar is a great detail that takes it from cardigan to cardi-glam (you see what I’m going for here)! The Jenny is made from 100% acrylic and has matching buttons up the front so you can wear it open or closed. It’s so comfy and warm; I’m basically living in mine this winter! And it comes in a range of stunning colours such as the clematis purple shade that I’m wearing here.

Vivien of Holloway have a huge range of halterneck dresses, including the gorgeous purple wild rose print number that I’m wearing in this post. It features a gathered halterneck that goes over your head (as opposed to one that you tie up), a flattering sweetheart neckline, and a super full skirt that falls to mid-calf. The top of the dress is boned, which I love as it gives a great shape to the fitted top before flaring out into the skirt. The roses in different shades of purple are printed on a white background of 100% luxurious cotton sateen, and they match the clematis shade of Jenny cardigan exactly to make an ensemble that easily takes you from summer to winter.

I’m wearing a size Small in the Jenny cardigan, and a size 10 in the halterneck dress. The cardigans are noted as running large and so it is a little big on me but not overly so, and ways to get around this are to belt it either open or closed, or to tuck it in to a skirt. The halterneck dress is an excellent fit, matching my measurements of 32″-24″ exactly. The only problem area is at the neck, where I just need to sew up about 2″ of the halterneck to get the perfect fit. This is a super quick fix and something that I’ve done in other Vivien of Holloway dress styles and so not a surprise or an issue for me! I’d especially recommend getting in quick with the cardigans as they are limited edition!
