Even though winter has well and truly set in here in New Zealand, I can’t get enough of bright cottons and my warm weather wardrobe is on constant rotation (with the addition of tights and a coat of course). So I was delighted when Laura from Miss Fortune got in touch to collaborate on her new Neat-O skirt, which just screams summer!
Miss Fortune was started by Laura in 2005 with a goal of making flattering vintage-inspired clothing, and has continued to flourish since then! I was so flattered that Laura came to me on this skirt, as she knew of my longtime love for yellow! The background of the 100% cotton 30s-inspired fabric is a bright and zesty shade, and it’s covered in red, green, pale blue and white dots of varying sizes. The Neat-O skirt has adorable details, from fastening at the back with a bright red button to the large patch pocket piped with red fabric to match. The skirt is super gathered at the waist, so you can expect a huge amount of volume! And if yellow’s not your thing then the Neat-O skirts also come in Cherry and Mint colourways, any of which is a delightful addition to your summer wardrobe.
Miss Fortune sizing runs from XS to XXL, with all sizes currently available in the Neat-O skirt. My waist size is 24″, so I went for the size XS and it’s a great fit. Laura also points out on the product page that if you’re handy with a needle and thread then you can move the button either way if you find it’s a centimetre off. The length is roughly 27″ from the top of the waistband which falls a couple of inches below the knee on me, and given the amount of fabric in this skirt the sweep is perfectly twirl-worthy at a whopping 106″.
You can purchase the Neat-O skirt directly from the Miss Fortune website for £46.99/$82NZD. All Miss Fortune clothing is made in and shipped from the UK, with a variety of local and worldwide shipping options available. Shipping rates will differ between countries but is always reasonable, for example it’s £8.75 untracked or £13.10 untracked to New Zealand. As the Neat-O skirts are made to order, you can expect an additional 7 working days for your skirt to be dispatched.
