Review: Love Ur Look Postcard dress

Today I’m featuring the Postcard dress from Love Ur Look, a UK-based brand and the brainchild of Ronke Fashola.

The Postcard dress features a sweet collar and short sleeves, red buttons up the front, and a matching belt. The belt is self-tie so will fit any waist size, and it can thread through the sewn-in belt loops. There is also a side zip to making getting in and out just a little easier. The dress is made of and lined with a lightweight cotton, and the lining even has a few inches of red tulle at the bottom to give a petticoat effect.  The A-line skirt falls just below my knees and has enough sweep to take a 2-layer petticoat (if you’re like me and live the poofy life). And then there are pockets! These even button up with red buttons that match those down the front. Too cute!

The print on this dress is the sweetest! Love Ur Look always wow me with their amazing prints (check out their new collection for some eye candy), and I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it. The fabric is a pale blue base with postcards all over it featuring red, yellow, green, turquoise, black and white – so many colours to accessorise with! It’s basically a great option for a relaxing beachy holiday or summer’s day, hence why @cmjsnz and I had to take it to the beach.

Love Ur Look clothing comes in sizes XS-XXL1, which is equivalent to UK sizes 6-20. I’m wearing a size XS/6, and for reference my measurements are about 32″ bust and 23″ waist. This size was perfect on me and it felt so comfortable. Being a shirt-waist dress this style has a slightly more relaxed fit (something I expect with all shirt-waisters), with the belt providing just the right level of waist cinching – just what you need to a stylish day in the sun!

A wonderful thing about Love Ur Look is that all their clothing is made using ethically-sourced and upcycled materials. Their garments are designed and made in an ethical women’s factory in India, which complies with UK standards and has fair treatment, hours, and pay. Ronke also donates Love Ur Look profits to a well known animal hospital in India. So buying a dress from Love Ur Look not only means you’ll look fabulous, but that you’re helping amazing women support themselves and their families as well as animals in need.

You can buy the Postcard collection (which includes the dress I’m wearing as well as a top and skirt) via the Love Ur Look website from today, or keep an eye out for their pop-up shop at events around the UK. They offer worldwide shipping for very reasonable rates, and I recommend getting in quick because this perfect summer dress will sell fast!
