Vintage Visions: Red lace BellaVintage dress

I have been collecting vintage for a number of years now. I’m constantly scouring op shops in my home town and whenever I travel; vintage markets and estate sales are always marked in my calendar; and now that so much vintage is sold online (hello OLL!) that’s frequently on my radar too.

As I have so many pieces (too many? Never!) and I love all of them dearly, I felt it was a great opportunity to start putting them in shoots – after all, they are just too pretty! To start, this post features the most amazing red lace dress from BellaVintage.

I have been buying from Sarah for over 5 years and in that time I’ve gotten some of the most beautiful pieces from her, and gained a wonderful friend as well. I got this particular dress in one of her Insta-sales; it needed a bit of TLC to fix some rips in the lace, but overall was in really good condition, and a perfect fit!

Katherine from The Undefined Photography took these gorgeous images, featuring a backdrop of red autumn leaves on a wall in Parnell in Auckland. As soon as she suggested the location, I knew this dress would match! It’s right near a busy road but these photos make it look really secluded.

Today also happens to be my one year Instagram-a-versary! I can’t believe it has come around so fast and I don’t know why it took me so long to join. I am constantly blown away by the creativity and inspiration I see there on a daily basis, and I have met (in person and online) some incredible people thanks to it along the way!

And of course let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see on the blog in the next year! The past year has mainly been me finding my way (and keeping up posting on a regular basis – which I have stuck to!), but now I’m getting into my blogging stride so I’m a bit more confident. As I mentioned before I’d really like to get more vintage on the blog, but please fire me an email if you have any other post requests and I’ll see what I can do!

Thank you so much to Katherine for these photos, and look out for more vintage pieces coming to the blog soon!
